At the National Culture Summit: The Future of Arts, Culture and Heritage in Canada in May 2022, the Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage, announced that Canadian Heritage would begin working on renewing the Canadian Museum Policy.
The renewal will take into account the information received following a consultation exercise running from October 2022 to June 2023.
This new policy has not been released as of September 2026.

« Au Sommet national sur la culture : L’avenir des arts, de la culture et du patrimoine au Canada en mai 2022, l’honorable Pablo Rodriguez, ministre du Patrimoine canadien, a annoncé que son ministère commencerait à travailler au renouvellement de la Politique muséale du Canada.
Ce renouvellement tiendra compte des renseignements reçus lors d’un exercice de consultation qui s’est déroulé d’octobre 2022 à juin 2023.
Cette nouvelle politique n’avait pas encore été publiée en septembre 2026.
